More Apple Activites

After having our Play and Learn Group over for apple activities we decided to keep the theme going.  We read "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Dr. Seuss again and we also checked out the video from the library.  Elliott and Oliver both enjoyed watching it, and afterwords while Oliver was sleeping Elliott made this craft.

Elliott used his fingerprints to make apples on his head - just like in the book.   He wanted to include his whole name!

Next I made a tree on our white board and hid apples with numbers on them around the room.  They boys had to find the apples, tell me the number, and place it on the tree.

After we took them off the tree we decided to turn the board over and put the numbers in order.  When we had them in order we realized they made a pattern!  We took turns secretly taking an apple off and then the other person tried to figure out which apple came next in the pattern. Activities like this are always a challenge with Oliver around because he's really good at taking the ones we've already done off and on again and mixing everything up!

This page was titled, "How Many Apples?"  Here's Elliott making apples in each of the boxes with his fingerprint.  The boxes were numbered 1-10
Of course Oliver wanted in on the fun, too!

This is the finished product of the apple printings we did with our P&L Group.  I love how they included their hand prints!
